What is a telephone answering service?
Somebody answers your business phone when you cannot. They use your company name, ask the questions you have chosen, and send you the message. Your callers reach a voice instead of a beep.
How is this different from voicemail?
Most people will not speak to a machine. They hang up and ring the next business. A voice that asks their name and their problem keeps the enquiry alive.
Do you need to take over my phone number?
No, and be careful of anyone who says they do. Your number stays with your provider. You add a divert, which you can turn off at any time.
What is the divert code?
It depends on your provider, and it is usually star twenty one hash followed by the number, or star sixty seven hash for busy calls only. We send you the exact one for your network.
How quickly do calls get answered?
The AI answers in under four seconds, on the first ring, no matter how many calls arrive together.
What does it cost?
From twelve pounds a month plus the minutes you use, with bundles from twenty four pounds. Minutes over a bundle are 26p. A real person answering starts at £39 a month.
Is there really no setup fee?
None. The established companies charge around twenty five pounds to switch you on. There is nothing to switch on here that justifies it.
How long is the free trial?
14 days, and we do not take a card to start it. If you do nothing at the end of it, nothing is charged.
Can I change what is said on the call?
Whenever you like. Edit the greeting or the questions and the next call uses the new words.
Who can see my messages?
You, and anybody you add. We do not sell data, we do not share it with marketers, and we do not use your calls to train anything.
How long do you keep recordings?
As long as you choose, and you can delete any recording yourself. You can also turn recording off completely and keep only the written message.
What if I want to stop?
Stop. There is no notice period and no cancellation call. Turn off the divert and your phone rings at your desk again.
Do you answer at weekends and bank holidays?
Every day, all day, at the same price. Out of hours is not charged as a premium here.
Can you book appointments into my calendar?
Yes, once you have shared the calendar with us and told us the rules for what can be booked.
Can you take card payments from my callers?
No. Handling card details on a call brings rules we are not going to be loose about. We send your caller a payment link instead.
